The overall product platform is great, and I found the interface to be intuitive for the most part. The "catch" for me is the upsell for every additional feature. The pricing model provides very deep discounts for the first year, then the upsell kicks in and pricing becomes astronomical, relative to the value added by the tools.

We have used the main Smartsheet product for a couple of years. It's a good, flexible system that works well to help run discrete projects. We then tried using it to manage a portfolio of projects. The supplied template is very fragile - links between projects are easy to break.
Then we purchased the Resource Management (RM) system, which was sold as being fully integrated with Smartsheet and able to save us a lot of time to manage our team's resources over the year. The integration with Smartsheet is fragile, often doesn't work at all, and RM is not able to handle vacations without considerable manual adjusting of tasks. It has not proved to be the time-saver we expected.
On top of this the support on offer does not at all compare to those SaaS providers who do support well. Queries very rarely get anything more than a canned response, even when we are obviously experiencing significant issues that the canned responses cannot hope to cover.

It has been a good experience overall.

Overall my experience with Smartsheet has been nice. It's a useful tool for managing projects and staying organized when working with a team. I like how it combines the look of a spreadsheet with features like task tracking, file sharing and automation. It makes teamwork easier and helps keep everything on schedule. but it takes some time to learn at first once you get used to it, it becomes a powerful and reliable tool.

Using Smartsheet has significantly improved our workflow efficiency, especially for managing complex processes like ticket issuance, approval flows, and integration with other platforms such as Make and Wise CX. The ability to centralize information, automate notifications, and track progress in real time has worked very well. Some integrations can be complex to set up initially, and there's a learning curve for new users, but the benefits in transparency and productivity far outweigh the challenges.
