Enterprise LCAP platforms feature governance controls and success management through self-service capabilities and APIs, developer documentation and training, and service-level agreements for platform operations.
Enterprise LCAPs provide the foundation for developing a wide range of application types and application components, including complex front ends, business process automation and distributed data sources.

Enterprise Low-Code Application Platforms

An MXDP is an opinionated, integrated set of front-end development tools and “backend for frontend” (BFF) capabilities. It enables a distributed, scalable development approach (in terms of both teams and architecture) to build fit-for-purpose apps across digital touchpoints and interaction modalities.
At minimum, an MXDP must support cross-platform development and building of both custom iOS and Android app binaries, responsive web apps, and at least one of the following: PWAs, chatbots, voice apps, wearables and Internet of Things (IoT) apps, and augmented-reality (AR) and mixed-reality (MR) apps.

Generative AI (GenAI) apps use generative AI capabilities for user experience and task augmentation to accelerate and assist the completion of a user’s desired outcomes. Generative AI refers to technologies that can generate new derived versions of content, strategies, designs and methods by learning from large repositories of original source content. When embedded in the experience, generative AI offers richer contextualization for singular tasks such as generating and editing text, code, images and other multimodal output. As an emerging capability, process-aware generative AI agents can be prompted by users to accelerate workflows that tie multiple tasks together. Apart from helping save time and money, generative AI apps help improve branding of businesses by creating more engaging and effective content while also creating more engaging and immersive experiences for customers. Products such as App Engine Studio make development easy to manage over time for our dev team. For instance, new developers that have recently joined our team are able to make valuable contributions to our user stories in just a short amount of time due to the intuitiveness and ease of working with  Flow Designer. The ServiceNow store is also very convenient, having many useful tools that we have used for third-party integration. The process is very fast, convenient, and reliable when compared to homebrew solutions. DevOps is also very convenient when working on the ServiceNow platform, and moving updates across is easy to setup and simply works.

Have been using the Now development platform from the heyday of its London release. Overall experience is better than those enterprise cloud encountered in my 6 years system architect role at a global tech firm. If not for the developer and training resources, I'd have rated it a 4 or 5-star. As a PaaS/iPaaS it claims, ServiceNow platform is modernized constantly with new applications added to every major releases. Yet the mandatory annual platform upgrade require developers to keep pace with changes, big and small. Now Platform reliability exceeds expectation. Yet finding the resources to implement it right is harder than other platforms. The developer environment, UI, IDE, toolsets are only becoming good from the Rome release a couple years ago. It still has potential and room for improvement.

As a developer I find it easy to build tables and applications to get something going, but designing custom things should not be difficult if someone needs to do it.

We have experienced a significant decrease in customer service, technical help and knowledge from HI and little or no sight of our account manager in the last year.  This has been very disappointing as ServiceNow as a supplier were previously very personable.  It now seems that they sell you the product and then encourage you to use 3rd parties or other avenues for help, rather then helping you themselves, which often results in further costs to us for professional service.  It's also frustrating that we have yet to find a 3rd party who has the expertise and knowledge needed to replace ServiceNow as the go-to.  The more functionality coming in, seems to be very hard to get guidance on and not simply Out Of the Box deployable.  Service Portal for instance, has been in for a number of years, but the widgets are still needing to be customised, as they are not fit for purpose.
