The process of engaging Ataccama, evaluating the product for fit, then getting started was very fluid and went quickly. Unlike many of the other bigger players in the space, their sales process feels seamless; there is no matrix of vertical versus product teams to navigate. Instead, they have very lean and agile sales / technical teams that keep things moving, adapting well to the customer as they learn more about the product. This also translated to our final contract in terms getting just the right mix of products / licenses. This was a refreshing experience for sure. They also have some good implementation partners nearby that are both extremely capable and cost efficient. So, we started off knowing that we not only had a solid tool set, we also had the partners we would need to execute and maintain. Now that we are in motion, Ataccama has been keen to build features into their product based on requirements surfaced through our project. That kind of speed in responding to and productizing requirements is extraordinary.

The product is good but a bit cumbersom to configure. Some functions that would seem to be out of the box need to be custom designed.

We have great relationship with Talend. Talend is providing excellent support and training. We have more than 50 engineers certified in Talend products. Talend have a flexible data model that enabled users to model and master not only customer and product data domains, but also less typical domains such as employees, assets, and reference data. Talend ETL jobs are very easy to develop and we have develop internal tool for ETL job testing and implementation.
"Implementation was great - more financial service industry model alignment required "
We used the Customer Hub solution from Oracle and managed to take in individual customer, their relationships, complex entities, vendor within a 12 months period covering a significant amount of customer source systems. We had challenges with non-profit organizations where a unique ID had to be created. Also, the physical model behind the OCH is not aligned to industry standards which increased our efforts to align it to our models for regulatory reporting.

In my experience SAP NetWeaver is an amazing tool for processing the customer's orders. It has a lot of great features, just to mention one of those features, the customer's payment method options(credit card & Invoice) are really good to get accommodate to the customer's budget. If the customer wants to pay within 30, 45 or 60 days, there is an option to select whichever the customer request is. Even if the customer wants to pay within the next fiscal year(if they got it approved by the company), you can select a special option and then enter the specific date the customer will pay. It's really amazing how SAP get adjusted as any special request.
"Tie in everything to your MDM"
I love the ability to incorporate our financial aspect of our company along with our manufacturing and industrial aspect of our company along with our technology aspect of our company it's pretty awesome to be able to operate everything into our MDM. It really helps to tie everything in our company together and make it seem like even though we are a big company that were a little bit smaller as it pertains to sharing and analyzing data.
