Individual contributors at SAS are largely helpful and eager to share their expertise. With some solution providers, we feel like we're providing on the job training; this has never been the case with my interactions with SAS technical and business resources. The business side, however, is a challenge. SOWs change, contracts change, it's difficult to find an authority to 'approve' things, etc. We're also forced to hire a business/project manager for any business services contract, which is expensive and provides little or no value to the project.

Like many vendors SAS is highly focused on their own revenue optimization. Some resources were knowledgeable in how we run our business, while others were highly disconnected.
