Gartner defines a mobile application management (MAM) tool as an on-premises or SaaS tool specifically designed for the license management, distribution, securing and life cycle management of apps for mobile device platforms. Thus, MAM tools provide integration with public app store payment and licensing mechanisms (such as Apple's Volume Purchase Program [VPP]), an enterprise app store, and the ability to set policies related to security, usage and ongoing management for apps or groups of apps. At minimum, a MAM product supports native and HTML 5 apps. Many also support a variety of popular hybrid app architectures, which may be highly desirable based on a particular client's needs.
"Great, well thought out product"
Telerik's platform is one of the, if not the, most developed and well thought out platforms my team and I have had the pleasure of working with. We have used their Angular components, .net components, and reporting suite and have had success with each. Their support is also top-notch with detailed responses coming back within 24 hours. With a fast-paced development cycle knowing that help is quickly obtainable makes all the difference.

It excels in managing and securing mobile devices across platforms, enforcing security policies, distributing applications, and protecting sensitive data. You can use it for android, apple and windows laptops, have features like VPN. "Pulse - in your life. "
Pulse Secure is a VPN that helps to connect your office network to a wifi connection. Currently our entire organization is using Pulse Secure. The connection is very fast and simple. All you have to do is click on the icon and connect using your official ID details. There is not much R&D that can be done on the connection but at times it does take a while to connect. Not sure if its the Wifi speed or Pulse being slow. There has been less interaction with the service provider as it has never given any issues so far. At first setting up the profile was confusing as I was not sure which IP to use or which ID but once I got the details and tested it, it worked like a charm. I would suggest to go for this and see how it works for you. Probably have a free trail.

"A mobile application wrapper with that only works for very specific use cases."
Mocana had a real business use case that big companies have; management risk of mobile devices and mobile applications. Mocana promised that they can wrap applications with ease with specific security policies and deploy them onto any device. The vision was that we could wrapping applications with security policies with breeze, sign it, and deploy it- but it wasn't that simple. In order to wrap applications, our team needed an unsigned version of an application. For many third party clients, they were not willing to do this because it could allow someone to reengineer the app, sign it, and deploy it while calling it their own. Issues regarding intellecutal property wasn't the only problem. Signing an application after the wrapping an application was difficult. Many times our team faced issues loading applications onto a device. Android didn't require signing so it was easier to deploy apps on those devices, but with an organization with over 20,000 mobile devices, a majority were on iOS. The apple signing procedure is a pretty complicated process which requires provisioning profiles, certificates, and specific confirgurations to properly run an app. The Mocana wrapped app required special "scripts" to sign apps which changed everytime a new iOS version was released so it was very difficult to maintain the most up to date process. Overall our company spents over millions of dollars in this product and didn't get anything out of the return. We will not be using Mocana (Blue Cedar) due to the tremedous amount of complications are team had faced.
