What are Unified Communications Solutions?

All unified communications (UC) solutions are intended principally to improve user productivity and enhance business processes that relate to communications and collaboration. Gartner defines UC solutions — equipment, software and services — as offerings that facilitate the use of multiple enterprise communications methods to achieve those aims. UC solutions integrate communications channels (media), networks and systems, as well as IT business applications, and, in some cases, consumer applications and devices. UC offers the ability to significantly improve how individuals, groups and companies interact and perform. The UC solutions that enterprises deploy range from stand-alone suites from single vendors, to integrated applications and platforms from multiple vendors. UC is often deployed to extend and add functionality to established communications investments.

Have been using Avaya voice over ip phones for 2 years now. This was an upgrade from standard analog phones. What an upgrade! The system allows great flexibility, supports mobile apps for mobile office (carry your office line and directory with you) and much more. The Pc add on software component allows easy directory searching and dialing using keyboard shortcuts and these features save time. Also, calls are fully logged so it's easy to investigate calls made/received, duration and much more. the system is also very reliable, we hadn't had a problem, ever.

We had a great experience overall in this project. The migration of our Contact Center and global phone numbers within the accelerated timeline is remarkable. The PS team navigated complex requirements, understood the existing process flows and delivered them on the new platform in a short period of time. They were also flexible in accommodating new business processes and requirements that emerged during the project. The daily sync-up meetings with the global teams and onsite visits to collaborate with our team in Bangalore really help foster collaboration. In order to meet the deadline, the PS team went the extra mile to accommodate the overlap of SIT and UAT. The migration was well-planned and coordinated, with thorough testing not only on TATA phone numbers but also on all our production numbers. The end-to-end support of network, phone numbers services and the Genesys Cloud has been invaluable, and the team's accountability and responsiveness significantly contributed to the project's overall success.

We purchased the Cisco Business Edition 6000H for the company. It is a low-cost solution that is easy to manage and use. It also has scale to support growth according to my need. The solution is not just IP Telephony, but it is also video conferencing, instant messaging, presence, and mobility. All this in just one hardware.

"Good and stable products but financial status is uncertainty to customers"

As existing customers on Nortel/Avaya products, Avaya product good upgrade roadmap and explanation to customers. The licensing model on per user, per line, per agents are bit confused but it's good for a replacement solution. For product sourcing, since there are multiple products in market, it's good that the sales provide good prior preparation on products demonstration, user reference and uses case sharing. From evaluation, quotation and contract negotiation, they provide prompt response and competitive price. As there are major system integrators in Hong Kong, overall project implementation and integration are quite smooth. Avaya also provide support to system integrator during the implementation phase as several problems encouter on compatibility issue with other application systems. The only concern is previous financial status like Chapter 11 which really make end customers have hesitation on whether to maintain business with them in the long run. But seems this issue was fixed at the moment. So far, on going support is positive from their sales and support team.
