“Top Notch Security BUT Slower Support !!!!!!”

Aug 26, 2025
As a network admin, the Radware Alteon 5424 SL has been a reliable workhorse. It's load balancing is smooth, handling traffic spikes like a champ across all SPs. Setup is intuitive and SSL offloading boosts our app performance significantly. I also appreciate the security features. The built in protection against DDOS and other threats adds a solid layer of defense, which is very critical for our infra. Plus the analytics give me clear insights into traffic patterns, making troubleshooting way faster and saving time. Advanced configurations can get tricky, especially if you are not deep into the tech weeds. Also i have noticed that firmware updates are smoother. Support is decent, though responses can be quicker for complex issues. Overall, Alteon is reliable, secure and gets the job done with minimum fuss. It's a solid choice for keeping our network humming, even if it takes a bit of know-how to unlock its full potential :)

    Jan 6, 2026
My overall experience with Radware Alteon is very good. The GUI and CLI interface is very good and easy to understand. I have been working on this device for the last 10 years and throughout that time my experience has been consistently positive. The main reason for the positive is Radware technical support - no matter the situation Radware team is always ready to help even if it is beyond their official support. They are always available to help, provide proper documentation.

Functional but rigid ADC with a steep learning curve

    5.0
    Aug 10, 2025
Our overall experience is mixed. The product's core load balancing and security features are functionally sound, but the operational overhead and inflexibility of the platform have been a consistent source of frustration. The product's performance is acceptable for our needs, but a steep learning curve and a lack of intuitive configuration for advanced features often complicate simple tasks. We have experienced issues with software bugs requiring patches, and the upgrade process has been more complex than anticipated.
