The most critical aspect we liked is the flexibility to define and design the operating model, it can be completely customized to suit our needs. Another aspect is the automation of a lot of tasks using Collibra's advanced workflow designer. Another crucial aspect is related to the availability of the out-of-the-box connectors to almost all types of data sources and flexibility to build custom connector using Collibra's REST API calls.

While Collibra offers strong end-to-end governance capabilities, there are a few areas which can be improved for example - enhancing the Protect capability for other source types apart from Snowflake, AWS etc. While Collibra is the only tool that provides this capability in the data governance space, once we have this enhanced then this will become a complete suite of governance platform. I know that Collibra recently acquired a company to enhance this capability.
the template is not strict enough and not peer reviewed. someone can write 3 words about a data with it being supposed to be a definition, and it ends up being unusable, and you don't even have an author or a department to reach out to if you have questions. the quality of the content and the different categories are up to the author, and if they did not feel like linking their definition to another related definition, you won't see a link. there is usually no database link to find the said data you are looking for. there is great potential in collibra, but it's just sitting in a corner and no one wants to use it because it's already poorly filled in.
The number of initiatives or features rolled out every month is plenty and adapting to those many changes in a short span of time is difficult

Superiorly Comprehensive Auditability Provided but Requires Significant Engineering Support Effort
Collibra is an excellent source of truth for terms and approved datasets. Workflows are powerful and people follow them. You will need to prepare for the implementation and maintenance of this, but if treated like an actual pipeline you should be good.
