Overall, I'd say my experience so far with Visual Studio has been super good. I use it almost daily for both main dev and some maintenance stuff, and honestly, it’s been reliable every time. I really like how easy it makes things like debugging and switching between projects and it just feels kinda familiar. Sometimes it's a little heavy and takes a bit longer to load up big solutions but, once it's running, I rarely have any problems. The whole git integration just makes life so much easier too and you don't need to keep jumping to another tool. So, yeah, overall, I just find it very solid and honestly can't imagine switching to anything else any time soon.

I've spent some time building test automation with Android Studio and it's been pretty solid overall. The Espresso framework does most of what I need for UI testing, though I had to write a lot of custom wait logic because the default synchronization does not cut it for complex apps. The Layout Inspector is very helpful when tests randomly break, as I can see exactly what's happening in the view hierarchy. My biggest headache is honestly the build times, waiting 3 to 4 minutes just to run a single test gets tiring fast when I'm trying to debug something.

Overall I'm pretty happy to be honest. I usually use another tool on our main dev projects, it's just what I'm used to. But whenever we switch to the automated test codebase, especially for all the Java and Selenium stuff, IntelliJ is just kind of awesome. Like, everything seems way smoother in there, code suggestions pop up right when I need them, and jumping around files feels easy. Setting up my test framework wasn't really a pain at all, barely needed to google stuff. There are these small features hidden around, I still find new ones sometimes that make my day easier, like some shortcut or something for refactoring. Reliability is solid too, haven't hit any major bugs so far, so I guess it does what it's supposed to do and lets me focus on writing tests instead of fighting the tool. To be honest, can't think of any huge cons I've had yet, maybe just wish it was a tiny bit lighter on memory but nothing too bad.

PyCharm is... charmful! PyCharm has proven itself to be a necessity for my Python development, offering complex IDE features such as intelligent code completion, which is becoming an increasingly prevalent demand from developers, integrated testing and virtual environment management, a thing of beauty for Python. It integrates with the essential technologies well, such as Git and web development frameworks. As a move away from more traditional IDEs that students particularly are always told to use, PyCharm can at first seem difficult to grasp and introduces barriers to entry just to get started. An overwhelming feeling for any new developers who are entering an enterprise that relies on PyCharm.

Great for vibe coding. I went from prototype to deployed in 20 hours (+ 12 hours for a senior developer to hard code, check quality and security). The fact that it is natively connected to Firebase makes the whole process easier and more intuitive for an amateur developer like me. Having unlimited Gemini credits to make any changes is a real plus. By connecting Firebase Studio to github one can get a real coding environment: development, staging, production. What I didn't like is that sometimes when an error is detected and the agent can't solve it, it gets into a loop trying to fix it over and over again. Also, sometimes even if you tell the agent not to implement or change anything beyond the specific command given, the agent is proactively destructive, it takes the initiative to change parts that were already approved. Finally, sometimes when building the console environment it gets stuck, and doesn't load; I was about to cry thinking all the work done will be lost, but the day after it worked again (why? no clue)

This IDE is great for writing PHP, as the name implies. Hook it up to Co-Pilot & the sky's the limit as the code suggestions are accurate maybe 75-80%, which improves productivity immensely.
