I like how quickly Falcon Surface detects and responds to threats. The cloud-based architecture keeps performance smooth and doesnt slow down devices. I also appreciate the detailed security insights and real-time alerts which help identify issues early.
What I like the most is the modules ability to automatically discover unknown assets and assess their associated risk clearly.
External Surface monitoring gathers all publically known systems and IPs and also learns about affiliated companies and their systems. Easy to modify, assign criticality, configure alerting and reports. All information can be accessed from the Crowdstrike Falcon Dashboard.
One downside is that some of the advanced dashboards can feel complex for new users and require a bit of training. The alerts can sometimes be too frequent, which makes it hard to prioritize quickly. Also, a few features take time to load during peak usage, so performance could be more consistent.
That the dashboard performance can occasionally be slow and some visualizations are not as intuitive as they could be.
Because the platform gathers a lot of data - IPs, websites, systems, we had to spend a lot of time and effort sorting them and setting up alerts. Hopefully they have a simple wizard or automated method to clean up the data, in the near future.

Falcon Surface (we mostly call it CrowdStrike EASM) does what it is supposed to do with minimum setup. We use it in a multi subsidiary environment and it mostly gives us a wow moment with proper reporting and detecting IPs and DNS that we are not even aware of.
