The ability to find anything on the network with a simple search bar. The capabilities provided by the NQE module to generate reports for Budget, Hardware Lifecycle, PSIRT issues and general inventories has been invaluable. The ability to take a snapshot of the network for pre/post change audits and checkouts.
Great for troubleshooting, network mapping and network status comparisons. It's very helpful to be able to trace out the actual path and several possible paths when there isn't a single path a certain type of network might take in your network. Especially if you have an overly complicated network that isn't as cookie cutter and standard as it could be.
Product design - A unique ability of forward network to collect the output of any command and then able to use it as a network database is the best feature i worked with.
1. NQE is very powerful, but being relatively proprietary is a drawback when AI has enabled engineers to write scripts w/o spending 6 mos (or longer) to learn the language. 2. I would like more canned reports for inventory and hardware lifecycle. While I have developed a bunch of my own by importing data from vendors, this is a bit time consuming in a multi-vendor environment. 3. The user community is still growing, but feel like there should be more what other vendors do to expand on what we are doing, and share what we've done with others.
It can't replace other network management tools yet, but will def keep using it if it does in the future. It will be a lot more easy to justify purchasing if it has more capabilities for network monitoring tools.
I believe, They still have to work on a bit of handling routing in better manner. I see some gap there.
