SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Likes & Dislikes
1. Integration with T-SQL queries and stored procs and the ability to create reports really quickly. 2. Very easy to configure, set up and update Reporting Services 3. The ability to automate report delivery using standard or data driven subscriptions and create schedules for a user or file system to receive them.
The best part of SSRS is its stability and tight integration with the Microsoft ecosystem. It handles complex, paginated reporting extremely well and once deployed, reports require very little maintenance. Security model and subscription functionality are also straightforward and dependable.
What I like most about this is to manage complex data in a timely manner with less effort. Use SSRS for straightforward, group-level security and use SQL Server for powerful security, including automation, drill-down and filtering options.
1. The look and feel is a bit outdated and visuals are not modern like other BI tools 2. The ability to drill in and out of reports to retrieve more detail and form observations about the data is very limited 3. Frequent delays or timing out of reports with larger dataset and no improvements that could be made on the reporting side. 4. Does not integrate with cloud infrastructures like AWS or Azure
SSRS feels dated compared to modern cloud native BI tools. The development experience is rigid, visualisations are limited and there is no real service layer for the end user. Scaling and managing deployments can also become cumbersome compared to browser-based, cloud-first solutions.
The Environment which is present or for UI feel that now its outdated. Regular Maintenance is required for the use of the services

Meaningful Reporting Tool with vast Capabilities however it lacks Modern Look and Feel
Very useful reporting tool with good set of features and easy to use interface. Report setup is straightforward and allows for user customizations to graph, charts and table driven data. Lacks the modern feel of the newer BI tools and capibilities to embed reports into your app. Integrates well with SQL server and its features but cannot integrate with cloud based databases. - IT DEVELOPER ANALYST50M-1B USDManufacturingReview Source

SSRS Delivers Stable Reporting But Lags Behind in Modern BI Features
SSRS is a reliable and mature reporting platform that delivers stable operational reports. It's not the most modern BI tool, but it consistently does what it is designed to do: produce scheduled and parameterised reports for business users that depend on structured reporting. - SENIOR SPECIALIST, BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE50M-1B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
Reliable reporting tool
My overall experience with SSRS has been mostly good. This is especially true for more traditional and straightforward reporting. It is pretty stable and works nicely with SQL Server so on the data side it usually does what it is supposed to do without much drama. - TECHNICAL MANAGER10B+ USDIT ServicesReview Source
SSRS simplifies report scheduling, but needs more in depth SQL knowledge for complex reports
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) provides a powerful solution to provide reports out of the box. Some SQL knowledge is required, particularly for complex data sets, although SSRS simplifies this very nicely. We created hundreds of flexible reports including scheduling which enabled users to get reports in their inbox whenever they needed.
