FAVORABLE

“Reliable and accurate vulnerability scanner - best results with a well-planned deployment”

4.0
May 20, 2026
Tenable Nessus remains one of the most reliable vulnerability scanners we´ve used. Vulnerability detection coverage is broad and accurate, with frequent plugin updates that keep pace with emerging threats. Asset integration works well across on-prem and hybrid environments. Compliance reporting covers major frameworks out of the box. Some tuning is needed to reduce noise, but overall it delivers solid risk assessment capabilities for the price.

I have found some of the features to be awesome, the exposure management and vulnerability management blades but most importantly, the remediation blades, where projects can be created and assigned to owners to help track vulnerabilities as they appear.

Nessus Effectively Identifies Vulnerabilities And Helps Resolve Them

    4.0
    Jan 23, 2026
We use Nessus to scan end points and servers for any potential vulnerabilities, which is extremely helpful when it comes to system audits. Nessus will scan and provide you with a list of all issues found, and even put them in order of most at risk. It will also tell you what the risk level of any outdated software it finds is, and will advise you on how to remedy the problem.

Like

The simplicity for setup and ease of use is what I like the most. Also, being one of the leading names in the vulnerability scanner and management platforms ensures that we are utilizing a platform that is constantly being updated with the latest threat knowledge.

Dislike

1. Limited built-in remediation workflow - findings need to be exported manually to ticketing systems, as native integration options are basic. 2. scan perfomance can degrade on large networks, requiring careful scheduling to avoid impacting production systems. 3. Reporting customization is limited without exporting data to external tools.

Dislike

What it doesn't do is mitigate immediately, it's just a real-time report of a vulnerability.

Dislike

The support from Tenable for the service is pretty lack luster and usually requires some follow-up to get the answers I need. Luckly, the product seems to work pretty well so it's not often that I need to contact support.
