EBX has had its ups and downs over the last 11 years that I have developed on the platform, however overall it has been a positive experience. We started MDM as basically an experiment and grew to incorporate nearly every financial corner of our enterprise. At this point we no longer have to seek out work from the business, as they come to us.

TIBCO EBX Likes & Dislikes

The top four aspects of EBX in my opinion are Workflow Configuration, Data Modeling, Custom Java UI (Forms) and EBX's ability to connect to nearly any 3rd party application easily.

It is a robust tool, well structured and with all expected features from an MDM tool

What I like most about EBX is that it us built for serious enterprise data management rather than just surface-level data cataloging or workflow overlays

The transition from the EBX engine to Lucene Index was tough at first as this required some beefier hardware upgrades (IO specifically) on our end. With the recent EBX 6.2 software upgrade however the performance is faster than ever.

The user interface is not the most attractive, workflow screens are not very intuitive and the integration capabilities are limited

I don't dislike anything about the product but I dislike that the implementation service is strictly partner driven
