VMware NSX Data Center Likes & Dislikes
First thing I like about VMware NSX Data Center is that it helps me in managing networks easily and quickly. It gives me relief now that I don't have to deal with hardware all the time. Second thing I can control everything from anywhere by creating a virtual machine.
Centralized network hub for virtual environment. It is an all-in-one solution which may replace most of the hardware networking devices. The network topology diagram makes it easier to understand the network architecture.
scalability, full integration, transferability
Things I dislike about VMware NSX Data Center are that sometimes it feels like I have to pass many steps to get things working as per my requirements. The learning path is kind of hard if you are new to it.
A lot of bugs. Difficult to implement. Support may not be knowledgeable to answer enquiries soon.

Using NSX as a gateway to the VM underneath makes it easier to configure the network. NSX is sufficient for standard firewall features, like NAT IPSec and VPN. - IT Associate1B-10B USDFinance (non-banking)Review Source
Good start of the product but yet picking up.
This tools is aim to be a powerful, centralized hub to manage and control the virtual environment. However, like many other VMware products, it has a lot of bugs, it has its own definition of terms and design, making it difficult to troubleshoot, especially logs are everywhere (could be on the Edge servers, or vCenter, or ESXi). It also has IDS/IPS feature, but not sure how reliable it is; at the end, proper firewalls and network switches have to implement, it is kind of defeating the purpose. It could be useful for large DevOps environment with many different teams running on different projects since it allows same subnet traffic control. - SENIOR WEB DEVELOPER50M-1B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
