vPenTest Likes & Dislikes
The standout strengths would be: 1. The depth of thoroughness of the scan's findings. 2. The guidance offered in rectifying the scan's findings. 3. The ability to perform in-depth scans without disruption to the functionality of the servers' and database infrastructure.
I like the ease of setup and the clarity of reporting.
The simplicity of setup and reporting. i spin up the virtual, fill in the blanks and check back when i get the job complete email. i have never had one fail either. they just work.
This platform has been scrutinized by our IT team, our MSP and our MSSP. Thus far, no issues have been expressed. If I really have to indicate three areas for improvement, I would suggest further simplifying the resolution steps, improvements in the reporting and dashboards to better display improvements made over time.
I don't like that the product is licensed based on the number of IP addresses detected, and separated by Internal and External. It seems like every time we perform a Remediation assessment, several additional IP addresses are detected and we're suddenly having to increase our subscription so we can properly service our customer. This leads to frustration due to unplanned costs and potential loss of revenue.
1) you have to be on an environment that can support a virtual server so you can spin up agent server. this isnt good for our all cloud orgs 2) i can use a terminal/shell, but not everyone does. because of this, im the only one managing it. if the administration of the local server used a web interface, i could train people to do this in my absence... but i cant teach people to use bash, you either know it or you dont. 3) i cant think of another bad thing to say.. its s soplid and simple product.

vPenTest delivers on its promises
I have used vPenTest at a previous place of employment. Having been successfully implemented and found to have met our compliance requirements, it was recommended at my current place of employment. Side-by-side comparisons were done objectively against top competitors and despite one of our competitors having a good relationship with one of our top management officials, the results were undeniable. Onboarding was done in one session. The dashboard is self-explanatory and there was no need for further customer support. Even though I had used the product before in a different environment, there was initially and naturally a slight hesitancy/fear to run the penetration test with fears that it would be disruptive and break the functionality of our systems. We have a highly complex network. The penetration tests have been run for two consecutive months thus far without issues. The product's findings were easily integrated with the output of VulScan vulnerability scanning platform. The scope of the findings and the resolution steps have been highly comprehensive. The reports generated have met the stringent requirements of our compliance body. I have no issues in recommending this platform. - Manager of IT Services<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
