Gartner defines banking payment hub platforms as a product that enables financial institutions to centrally process incoming and outgoing payments. These payments include bank-to-bank real-time payments, batch payments and high-value payments, but can also include alternative payment methods such as stablecoins. Their architecture is evolving from on-premises monoliths to composable, cloud-based software that allows banks to customize or configure payment processing. They have three layers: an input layer, a processing layer and an output layer.
