We brought in HiredScore AI because our recruiters had abundant incoming applications and were spending too much time manually digging through our ATS to find past candidates. As the engineer responsible for backend data integration, my main job was getting our ATS to talk to their platform. The setup was very smooth, the API handles bi-directional syncing well, and thus candidate statuses update across both systems without us having to write too many custom patches. The tool also acts as a smart filter. It reads incoming resumes, compares them to the job description and gives candidates appropriate grades. For the recruiting team, this is a massive win as they can just start their day looking at "A" graded candidates instead of scrolling through hundreds of resumes. However, from an engineering standpoint, the AI model is a completely closed system. When a recruiter flags a candidate who got a weirdly low score and asks me to explain the logic, I can't look under the hood to see how the model weighted their skills. Basically, you have to trust their algorithm which can be frustrating when you want to fine-tune the results for lead technical roles.

Deploying HiredScore AI to sit on top of our existing ATS has genuinely transformed how our talent acquisition team operates. However, the reason I give it an 8 out of 10 instead of a perfect score is that ongoing administration and customizing the AI models to fit niche roles can be frustratingly rigid.
