At first look, it seems like a decent platform. The price of a lot of work is pretty good. Lots of options. Once you look closer things go from bad to worse. First, they have an arbitrary rule which caps the top price the listings can be for. Which is crazy. However, what has happened is a game were people list mandatory add-ons just to reach the real price. Because of this they will intentionally do the lowest price and add an $X mandatory addon you don't notice till later. This makes any price sorting useless. 

Second, they have very high fees on the seller side. On the buyer side, they have a 10% hidden fee across the board for all payment methods. Depending on which payment method you select they may not even tell you about it. Which is bull since they clearly say in the support area there is no fee for buyers. I don't know who thought people would believe 10% is the CC processing fee. I use to think Upwork is bad. Boy, was I wrong.

The only reason I even went through with my first order is that they gave me a 10% first timer discount. But oh wait, it caps out. So instead of spending almost $X, I cut my order down to $X. I would not have ordered at all, but it was not doing research to find someone else to save $X bucks. I'll just stay away from them in the future I think. If you are going to charge a payment processing fee (even at 10% which is just a hidden fee) at least be upfront about it. 

Also, be sure to not send any links in your first messages. Cause they will block you from talking to the sellers.
