Among the main strengths of Amazon RDS, I would like to mention the following: - One of the key benefits of Amazon RDS is that it is a fully manageable solution, which helps reduce the operational burden on IT infrastructure teams. - Another strength of Amazon RDS is its ease of integration with the AWS ecosystem, including services such as AWS IAM, AWS Secrets Manager, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Backup, Amazon EC2, Amazon ECS, and AWS Lambda. - Another important point to consider is Amazon RDS's support for multiple database engines, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server. This is a valuable tool for database administrators during migrations from on-premises environments to AWS.

1) RDS Pricing Complexity and cost growth. It has a pay-as-you-go model which can become expensive and hard to predict. 2) For global database setups the performance may be slower in some scenarios. 3) There is a lack of full control with limited deep customization compared to self-managed databases. There is also a vendor lock-in risk with heavy integration with the AWS ecosystem which makes migration harder.
