Workday's Financial Features Lag Behind as Automation Leads but Usability Suffers

Here are what I see as the stand out for this product: 1) Cloud based and everyone is on a single code base. This allows us to keep up with the most current system version and features and the system updates happen across all customers in a few hours. 2) System is very easy to configure by customer and all customers can use the same system in a completely different way. 3) The design of the system allows for transparency at a click instead of having to look at detail by going to a different part of the system. 4) The system design allows for taking action immediately within the location in the system. 5) The different components of the system work well together and data flows across different sections without issue.

The navigation tools and customization options are behind. It also has not been and simple to implement as initially promised, with many items still lagging months after our implementation was supposed to be finished. Creating any customized field feels like a hassle with many hoops to jump through. Finding reports and specific items is also difficult with everything relying on a search bar. I think that Workday is rolling out improvements in these areas, but it is easy to tell the financial side was not built first on their platform.
