For the most part, our requirements can be met through configuration of D365 F&O, our enhancements are very specific to the NGO space. The procurement system process has the level of control needed for donor and regulatory compliance with full audit trails. For a global organization of our size, having an integrated procurement and financial management system has been critical for cross-functional collaboration and close to real-time visibility into spending across 40 country programs. The financial reporting capabilities, combined with robust dimension structures, allow us to track and report against multiple funding sources simultaneously, a non-negotiable requirement for any organization managing restricted donor funds. D365 F&O has given us a single, unified platform for financial management, procurement and budgetary control across a complex global operation. Before implementation, we struggled with fragmented systems and inconsistent processes across country offices. The platform has enabled standardized chart of accounts, centralized procurement workflows with proper segregation of duties, and consolidated financial reporting that meets the stringent requirements of institutional donors such as USAID, ECHO, and FCDO. It has significantly reduced the time to close our books and improved audit readiness.

Customer-visible telemetry and troubleshooting information for environments is almost non-existent. If a production downtime occurs, you're at the mercy of Microsoft support resources to resolve it. Microsoft's investment in support resources has dwindled over time, leaving their frontline support resources as terribly inexperienced technicians that often provide meaningless answers to even basic support requests. Recently, Microsoft has been pushing their CoPilot AI tooling into the D365 SCM space, but haven't yet delivered anything meaningful to our business in that offering. The standard functionality AI solutions are so generic that I have trouble imagining any business where they would be useful.
