Overall, Imperva has been a great product for our business. It has a simple to use interface which allows daily management and setup to be completed easily. We have assessed Imperva against its market competitors 3 times in the last 7 years and it still comes out on top. When it comes to protection, it has helped to detect and prevent several attacks from bots attempting to misuse some of our services, and it regularly protects against DDOS attacks.

Since the Thales acquisition of Imperva, customer support and interaction has been absolutely phenomenal.  The team at Thales is very proactive with helping to ensure the customer is aware of what features are available, troubleshooting issues, and making the customer feel as though they've been heard.  That said, the product itself could be considered a little lacking.  New features appear to be released with the notion of a goal and perhaps some client direction, but without seeing the vision to a full conclusion prior to being released.  While meetings with product managers are helpful, it does appear like the path is set and the meetings are less about listening and understanding needs and more about instructing as to the new features' capabilities.  Similarly, pre-existing products suffer from user interface flaws and an almost black box approach to logic - knowledge of how the product works that seems to have been lost in the transition to Thales.

O WAF tem uma ideia um pouco diferente, porque a aplicação precisa ser clara e o WAF precisa entender cada passo daquela aplicação para que não bloqueie uma funcionalidade do negócio sem ter a conhecimento ou a política necessária para o tal uso.

Imperva ASP delivers strong protection for web applications, especially in scenarios with a WAF (Web Application Firewall). Attack mitigation is stable and offers good traffic visibility, but some configurations and adjustments can be quite laborious. Initially, when using a WAF, the WAF has a slightly different approach because the application needs to be clear, and the WAF needs to understand each step of that application to avoid blocking business functionality without the necessary knowledge or policy for that use.
