I like the ease of use and great documentation of each component. The wide range of connectors makes it easy to quickly integrate data from all common source systems. Canvas and its components are extremely useful for both business users and technical experts, the latter being able to expand on both by using SQL, Python or Bash scripting.

- Matillions does not have its own compute resources. It relies heavily on snowflake, or AWS or other cloud service providers for their compute. This sometimes brings up hidden cost that adds up when doing some exploratory data analysis. - While Matillion provides many connectors, most of them are easy to use. Some, like the GCP connector, are very complex to set up. The complexities are in the extremes. - The platform has a very manual version contorl. Any development needs to be saved as a json file in a folder locally. If you were to lose that file or the system is corrupt, we lose that version.
