DIPs provide a solution to enhance how organizations make decisions, whether by humans or machines, individually or collectively. They address the growing challenge of making timely and accurate decisions in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous ecosystems, for more demanding customers in disruptive, competitive and regulated markets. DIPs help by creating executable decision models that improve decision service composition and all-source intelligence to achieve better situational awareness, better recommendations or autonomous actions, tailored to specific decisions and outcomes. They can reduce the risk of poor decisions, allow organizations to anticipate change and respond more swiftly to opportunities at scale.

I found the interface user-friendly, especially due to its integration with Power BI and Azure services. features like OneLake and unified governance simplify data management and collaboration. While some newer capabilities are still evolving, the overall experience has been efficient and productive, making Fabric a strong platform for end-to end analytics and data-driven decision-making.

It mainly provides a unified platform for data driven decision making, analytics, reporting and AI capabilities. It integrates well with Microsoft products. This simplifies the need to collaborate across different platforms for data. This is still at the stage where advanced decision intelligence capabilities are being built. It also allows for faster decisions through centralized access.

We brought in Microsoft Fabric mainly to reduce constant context switching across Azure tools. Earlier our ingestion and reporting were siloed and maintaining governance across disconnected pipelines had become a real headache. The move OneLake has been the biggest win. It cut down data duplication and made access more consistent across teams. Power BI integration was quite smoother than expected especially for real time use cases. With Synapse Real Time intelligence we are now catching data changes as they happen instead of waiting for batch updates.
This is not a plug and play shift. Teams used to standalone Azure services will face a learning curve adjusting to Fabric's unified approach. Cost forecasting was also tricky at the start. The competition based model, particularly the Capacity Units (CU) took time to understand. Monitoring usage closely from day one is important to avoid surprises.
