We used Commvault Archiving for several years for file archiving, on our NetApp filers, without severe issues. Overall we are pleased with this solution.

Excellent file level archiving solution that allows out users to move, store and access  their important files on separate systems that are designated as archive. Data can be replicated from site to site so that restoration of files or data can be quickly accomplished in case of a data center outage.
