Software buyers / CIOs - How do you think about consolidation/simplification of your software stack with regard to multiple editions of the same parent software? eg. a department-specific version of Dropbox or Adobe for Sales, HR, Legal, etc.?
Is the preference to manage as few editions as possible a purchase consideration? Or not at all so long as department-specific features are driving unique value for your teams?Marketing Analyst
See Full DiscussionWhile I'm not in IT, our organization has a software distribution platform that's the first destination when team member are looking for software. This helps with simplifying purchasing, negotiating and distribution. And new tools adopted by teams, as they begin to become popular are migrated to the distribution platform. A recent example is Asana, the team I worked on onboarding the tool and as other outside of our org adopted it, it reached a tipping point where it made sense to add it to the enterprise software distribution platform.
