The strongest aspect of Azure Front Door is its tight integration with other Azure services. It works very well with Azure native components and simplifies deployment, monitoring, and management. The global distribution of Azure data centers ensures strong CDN performance and low latency for users worldwide. As a CDN, it is very capable and benefits from Microsofts extensive infrastructure. The setup process is straightforward, especially for teams already familiar with Azure, and it fits naturally into existing cloud architectures.

The main limitation is depth. It lacks some of the advanced performance optimisation, security and configuration capabilities offered by more specialised CDN providers. Global performance and edge reach can also vary depending on region and use case, which makes it less suitable for highly distributed or latency sensitive workloads. Finally, advanced use cases often require additional Azure services or third-party tools, which reduces the appeal of Azure CDN as a single comprehensive solution.
