My overall experience with Amazon Kendra has been highly positive, particularly due to its powerful, ML-powered search engine that delivers highly relavant results compared to traditional keyword searches. The built-in data connectors made it incredibly straightforward to link up our existing data silos, like SharePoint and S3, without requiring extensive custom code. Indexing is fast and handles updates smoothly, while the content processing capabilities do a great job of extracting meaning from unstructured documents. On the downside, applicatuon integration can somethimes feel a bit ridge if you want to heavily customize the native UI components, but the APUIs are robust enough to handle custom steups if you have the development resources.

White technically is a enterprise service designed to handle millions of documents with additional storage units it has a lot of limits, configuration quirks and budget gotchas. The indexing and search is top quality semantic search with generative AI  but a lot of work has to be done for managing the content in the storage units,  indexes and proactive cost management.
