As mentioned above, the quality of the semantic search and answer generation was pretty good once our content was indexed properly. On that note, Vertex AI search did manage the following quite well: indexing pipelines, relevancy, retrieval run as a service, and handling unstructured documents. Needless to say the content processing engine was a workhorse once the data connectors were in place. We also appreciated how i connected to our existing systems. We were able to plug in multiple connections including file stores, our other KBs (knowledge bases) and our own internal apps into a unified search engine.
