The tool supports several modelling notations, this is very useful if the companies wants to adhere to modelling standards. We are using Archimate and BPMN to standardize our repository standards and this is helping us fetch the benefits we wish to seek from the EA tool. - For the tool to be deployed successfully the user awareness of notation standards is a must for cataloguing the artifacts - Using modelling notations helps to analyze, consolidate and summarize the enterprise wide information. Other tools allow flexibility to use extended metamodel elements/notation (for better visuals). which works great in short term, but in our experience with other tools, extended metamodel notations doesn't allow consolidation of enterprise wide information consistently, defying the entire purpose of EA. The tool supports scripts- extremely useful in scenarios such as autocolor objects, auto build diagrams based on information provided...etc.. Model development, interface and automation capabilities are better in BizzDesign compared to other tools. This capability comprises of automatically organize EA content, customization and scripting, regeneration of models based on data held within tool repository, ability to search based on properties & metadata, analysis of model completion (for quality conformance), ability to change the way models are presented and viewed, ability to compare diagrams, models..etc The tool provides great capabilities for repository management ... with respect to collaboration by multiple users on one repository (concurrently), merge diagram and models, support model versioning with ability to roll back changes, ability to lock parts of model for control purpose.
