EAM is primarily a transactional workflow system designed for the purposes of management and execution of capital asset maintenance. It may be included or integrated with a wider ERP suite. An alternative term used for EAM is “computerized maintenance management system” (CMMS), which is generally considered to be small-scale, single-site applications with less functionality around parts management and resource scheduling.

Documentation is what I don't like very much. It is very outdated and doesn't help with most of the issues experienced.

Octave is very thorough and they like to plan things ahead of time.  This usually works out.  Sometimes the actual execution takes a bit longer than expected.  But overall, they do an excellent job.  They also know the EAM product extremely well and have the team to support it no matter whether that is a new install, maintenance support, or integrations with other products.  I am highly impressed with their staff, who listens to our ideas and concerns.
