My experience with the Stellar Cyber Open XDR platform has been largely positive, especially in terms of visibility and operational efficiency. One of its strongest aspects is how quickly it centralizes data from multiple security tools without requiring heavy customization. I also appreciate the detailed threat description, which helps Security Analyst (SA) clearly understand different types of alerts and improve investigation efficiency.

However, there is still some areas for improvement. For example, when adding new properties to a search, the process can be slow and requires additional loading time. It's involved multiple steps such as searching, clicking and waiting while it's loading, which can reduce operational efficiency during investigations.

In addition, the distinction between enriched data and original data can sometimes be confusing. This may lead to misinterpretation and create challenges for both the Security Analyst and customer when trying to determine the actual source and context of event. 

Furthermore, Security Analyst had previously created multiple saved views for different alert types, which required some time and effort to configure, which was essential for helping analysts perform efficient alert analysis, as specific properties were customized for each alert category. However, there was an incident where all the saved views suddenly disappeared. The issue was resolved after opening a case with support. Such incidents should ideally not occur. 

Lastly, we observed that the data export function is limited to 100,000 records per export. This limitation makes it difficult for Security Analysts to prepare monthly reports, as they are required to export data in multiple batches from datasets that may contain millions of records. This process is time-consuming and inefficient. Improving the export capability to support larger datasets would greatly enhance reporting efficiency and overall usability.

It’s a very helpful threat detection platform, especially for someone like me who’s new to cybersecurity. We make use of this on a daily basis, making our monitoring and investigation even better. It’s effective in making the detection of threats easier which really us stay on top of alerts.

Overall, it’s very user friendly, and I was able to adapt quickly to using the Stellar Cyber.  It gives me the privilege to get details/information of alerts allowing my investigation to be fast and smooth. This is highly recommended for cybersecurity professionals.
