As far as hospital EMR goes, Cerner gets the job done with some mild annoyances here and there. It took me a while to learn how to get the full functionality out of it. I do like how patient notes are stored and how it allows me to access face sheets and print results easily.

Cerner does not go out of it's way to make the EMR experience better as it does not offer any solutions to make charting easier. It is also pretty dull to look at and use.

I think the best part is the universal nature of epic. In my experience, it is the most used EMR system across the country. This makes medical record transfer easier and lessened chance of needing to learn how to use a new system.

My hospital has been using Cerner EMR for many years now and then later added HealtheIntent and EDW. It helps with metadata management and reporting and allows for users to access workflows with ease.
