AppDynamics is our go-to for deep dive performance analysis, especially during our load testing cycles. As an SDET, I heavily rely on the browser synthetic monitoring to run Python-based front-end test scripts on a schedule that simulates user flows such as from logging in to checking out. It excels at connecting front-end latency from the browser RUM directly to the backend database queries, which helps me prove to developers that the slowness is indeed an API issue and not just a heavy client-side script.

Despite Splunk Observability Cloud being a strong enterprise wide best of suite offering, in practice it falls short for our needs. Splunk Core remains strong as ever and in my opinion and is the best logging tool in the world, however it's best combined as a best of breed solution with other observability providers to create a cost effective and adoptable enterprise-wide monitoring capability. Our implementation of logging was a succes, but implementation of monitoring failed.
