Product: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

Organised image management and clear tools with minimal setup time

Product: Photoshop Elements

Familiar and powerful tools hindered by a disjointed and often restrictive interface

Likes and dislikes about

likes

The preset system is genuinely useful. Rather than adjusting every single image from scratch, I can apply a look I have already refined and move on. Managing large collections of images is also straightforward, folders and albums are easy to organise and the interface is clear. There is a substantial amount of learning material available outside the product itself, from tutorials to user-generated presets, which makes it easier to build skills.

dislikes

If you're used to Photoshop you will find yourself fighting the interface to get to the tools you're used to, because they are often trapped under a restrictive layer meant to keep things simple for novices.
