Compared to other process mining tools I've worked with, it feels counter intuitive. They are trying to re-invent terms/jargon and methods in a way that's confusing for me. The first thing I do with new process mining software is to test whether or not it can filter out 'spider activities' . Mindzie's filters do not allow for this spider filter. This makes it not usable for my type of datasets, which are very complex and need to be filtered for spider activities. I've asked Mindzie about this, and they referred me to a feature called 'log enrichment', where I supposedly could achieve the same effect. It's basically a mode where you apply 'SQL-like statements to the event log. In this case removing the specific spider activities. I tried it but got an error notice and can't analyze anything after doing the enrichment. I'm not planning to follow a course or read a manual to work with Mindzie. The process mining tools I can compare it with, allow for this filter in an easy and intuitive manner, so I will stick with those tools. Mindzie is very cumbersome in dealing with the spider activity and I still haven't been able to get it to work correctly in that regard. Even if it would work through the 'log enrichment' mode, I wouldn't use it because it's too cumbersome to get to that point (having to go back and forth between log enrichment and process explorer).
