Product: Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Open-Source Stack Offers Flexibility But Requires Advanced Linux Expertise for Setup

Likes and dislikes about

likes

What worked well for us was the stability. After the final setup, we didn't have to deal with many unexpected outages or problems. I also liked that it fits well into an existing Red Hat environment. If your team is already familiar with Red Hat tools, it's easier to understand how everything connects. Managing VMs and basic infrastructure tasks from one place also helped reduce some manual work.

dislikes

Licensing is something I should definitely talk about in the dislikes. Also for the setup and troubleshooting we need the expertise dealing with the Linux. It also compares poorly to tools like VMware vSphere in setup and management as it is more manual and feels heavy. Also to make it usable for a full experience we need to integrate with the other red hat products which makes it dependable.
