The user experience is not up to industry standard, in my opinion. Other content management systems are fairly easy for large numbers of users to figure out and require a low amount of training. The layout of a CMS should be intuitive. I find AEM to be the opposite, akin to other similarly-cryptic adobe products. Things are labeled idiosyncratically, buttons and clickpaths are not where you'd expect them, and it's surprisingly easy to break things. New users, accordingly, need lots of ramp up and support.
