Allows the e-commerce retailer to purchase x amount of hours and traffic load before an event (e.g. Black Friday; Christmas shopping) that would see a spike in page visits, shopping transactions and overall hits. The stress testing helps prioritize and scale-up if needed to cater for a seamless customer experience without any delays, lags or downtime which would hamper e-commerce site performance.
The most liked features are that it perform load and stress testing of our application and give us different parameter in which we can improve our application. It is able to simulate high-level realistic user experience. It provides real-time analysis, so we can test in different scenarios. It is cloud based it can easily scale as per demand. It is an automated process, so it saves a lot of time and increases our revenue.
Sometimes its advanced features can be challenging for the first time user without proper training and documentation. The real-time dashboard lags sometimes when running large scale tests which makes it harder to catch issues right away. The pricing structure can get confusing and expensive as test scale increases, and i wish the report was a bit more customizable to fit specific needs.
Built for purpose so the pricing might not cater to all budgets. Multiple parties need to be engaged from Akamai for the delivery, which, while effective can be difficult to keep track of as the re-seller and wanting to keep all stakeholders in the loop.
The customer support team takes a couple of days to resolve the ticket. The documentation can be up to date and have all the advanced and new features we have. These are minor issues and nothing major dislike about Akamai CloudTest.
