These features greatly simplify governance and surface data quality issues proactively. Powerful, relatively easy to use, looks modern-ish

I believe the offerings get at the heart of what is important in today's data ecosystems. Leveraging Alation's already rich metadata foundation and pairing that with agentic tools for analytics and data services make this a rich solution full of capabilities.

There remain a few gaps in coverage, particularly within more modern pipeline/notebook-based operations that are used, but this position continues to improve incrementally. Some documentation is unclear, but Alation support are always on hand to solve any problems.

Lacks some basic functionality of more mature solutions/competitors; too costly for what it provides

There is not much. We have some challenges at times but this is something every solution faces.
