Given the easy of deployment of the ALTR platform, it would be awesome to see more databases and warehouses supported at scale.
Initial installation had off-platform solutions (custom scripts were provided by ALTR to help speed up our application of tags en masse) Initial installation had challenges, due to the off-platform solution (those same custom scripts accidentally complicated deployment, as the ALTR product did not have any record of what the scripts performed) We hit scalability issues masking a massive dataset (we had spinning queries on a single masking policy applied to billions of records on 80cols simultaneously). The issue is related to inconsistent communication between ALTR's external functions being executed in Snowflake; Snowflake didn't know when the external functions complete, which causes queries to spin endlessly. We also found a Snowflake bug in the process, which prevented the queries from being cancelled. Both bugs have since been resolved by the appropriate vendors.

Fantastic, simple solution to Snowflake Data Masking
ALTR provides a simple interface to implement complex Snowflake functionality. ALTR's customer support and on-boarding process has been exceptionally helpful during this time - really above and beyond. We did have some hiccups with initial setup; specifically with the complexities of applying tags en masse in our Snowflake environment. The ALTR team helped us by providing scripts to mass create/update tags, but this was a workaround outside of the actual product which ultimately led to more troubleshooting. Ideally this would not have happened, but the ALTR team was extremely attentive and helpful getting us through the challenges.
