Ease of deployment that returns immediate value and visibility.
We appreciate ALTR's ability to limit user access to sensitive data in real time and that ALTR exists in the cloud services layer so there's no additional compute-cost for using their products. While we are very impressed with the functionality of ALTR itself, we are most impressed with ALTR's commitment to understanding our security structure prior to ALTR's implementation and customizing their product to fit with our existing practices.
It is a key part of our security posture - not having the data stored is a 'last mile' defense that is hard to beat. It has informed our risk posture, our insurance profile, ...etc
Given the easy of deployment of the ALTR platform, it would be awesome to see more databases and warehouses supported at scale.
ALTR's biggest weakness was that its masking policies were user-based rather than role-based. That being said, the ALTR team created a promising work around to allow us to have role-based functionality with a negligible effect on query performance.
Integrating the driver into our technology stack took some work as we have 20 yrs of use-cases stored and not all are applicable to the ALTR security solution.
