Overall cost understanding can be a bit difficult as compared to traditional DB and even purchasing reserved instances for aurora instances requires expertise as if not properly selected user can end up paying more. Limited DB options , Aurora currently supports only PostgreSQL and MySQL engines, so it limits your scope of selection from db engines

A health dashboard that allows for either automatic assessment and insights on the Aurora side or even manually noting down known causes of poor performance would be cool.
