Amazon QuickSight Likes & Dislikes
One of the best things about QuickSight ishow well it integrates with AWS servicess. Data stores in AWS can be connected relatively quickly without needing complicated setup. The interface is also fairly easy to learn. Creating charts, tables, dashboards doesn't require a lot of technical knowledge, which makes it accessible for busi ness users. Another advantage is SPICE engine, which allows datasets to be cached in memory. This improves dashboard performance and allows for faster query responses compared to running queries directly on the source database every time.
Ease of use and anyone can quickly learn and come up to speed
Very fair pricing model, especially the capacity pricing feature. The pricing model keeps it feasible for us to deploy analytics throughout the whole organisation without running up a massive bill for users that aren't even active. The agentic analysis features enable our users to find root causes for certain insights much faster. The agent showing its thought process is also a must-have for us since it allows our users to better verify the output of the agent. There are many seamless integrations, making the setup of data sources, etc. trivial. The product is super fast and scalable.
- One thing that can be frustrating at times is the dashboard customization options. Compared to some other BI tools, the design flexibility feels a bit limited. If you want highly customized visuals or complex layout control, you may find the option to be restrictive. - Another challenge is the learning curve around permissions and sharing dashboards. Managing access control across multiple users and datasets sometimes takes more effort than expected. - Data preparation inside QuickSight is also not always as powerful as dedicated data transformation tools. In many cases, it's easier to prepare the data outside QuickSight before importing it.
Limited Visualizations for charts is the biggest issue.
It lacks a bit in advanced customisation, or at least makes it hard to do properly. For example, when you need to create dashboards that match your branding guidelines / style perfectly, it quickly becomes very tedious to accomplish. The docs are sometimes a bit lacking when you need to do more advanced stuff, or when troubleshooting. As an admin, managing the lifecycle of a dashboard is a bit tedious. There's no straightforward way to promote a dashboard through environments, to production. Complex calculations can be a pain due to difficult syntax, and error messages are often unhelpful in those cases.

Integration With AWS Is Seamless But Customization Remains Limited In QuickSight
I've been using Amazon QuickSight for building dashboards and visualizing data from different sources within AWS. Overall, it's been a solid business intelligence tool, especially if most of your infrastructure is already on AWS Cloud. The biggest advantage is how easily it connects with AWS services. Once the data pipeline is ready, creating dashboards and sharing them with teams becomes fairly straightforward. It might not be as flashy as some other BI tools, but it gets the job done. For teams that already use AWS heavily, it fits naturally into the workflow without needing to bring in a completely separate analytics platform. - Software Developer50M-1B USDMediaReview Source
Scalable Analytics Solution With Top Notch Agentic Capabilities But Customization Challenges Persist

End-user UX sometimes feels like it has some room for improvement. - SENIOR ANALYST50M-1B USDHealthcare and BiotechReview Source
Wide Dashboard Creation and Predictive Analysis Possible, Interface simplicity expected
Amazon QuickSight is a great bundle of business intelligence tools that help organizations to create and track various metrics related to data science, technology, engineering, IT infrastructure and operations in general. Seamless Data Integration and Dashboard Creation with Amazon QuickSight in AWS
Working with Amazon QuickSight has been surprisingly smooth, especially when I am already pulling data from AWS services. It feels like everything is right where I need it, Redshift, S3, Athena, just plug-in and go. Once the data is loaded, building dashboards is quick and SPICE keeps things responsive even with heavier datasets. It is a tool that fits naturally into my workflow without adding unnecessary complexity. - CLOUD ENGINEER / CLOUD SPECIALIST50M-1B USDBankingReview Source
