Arctic Wolf Managed Risk Likes & Dislikes
What stands out the most about Arctic Wolf Managed Risk is the details provided with each vulnerability, the support from the Arctic Wolf team, and the availability of customization/management options. Each vulnerability has its own detail page, in which the specific file path, registry path, or installed application that revealed the vulnerability is given. This is extremely useful, especially when trying to patch a more difficult or widespread risk. The Arctic Wolf team has been extremely helpful and receptive. We have a monthly meeting with them in which we go over patching progress, any questions that have come up, or anything else we want to discuss. Finally, the availability of ways to customize Arctic Wolf is very useful. We can freely change the scan schedule and change which endpoints the scans are targeting. We can also add tags and assign different criticality values to assets. For management within our IT group, we can assign risks to specific IT employees and even add Due Dates.

Read Full ReviewThe main weaknesses of Arctic Wolf are the noise it generates if not correctly configured, a lack of UI options for filtering risks, and some risks not showing any remediation resources. Artic Wolf can generate a lot of noise via alerts and tickets if not configured correctly. We had to ensure they were not scanning certain devices and that we were not alerted to certain actions, which largely fixed the noise issue. The thing I dislike the most about Arctic Wolf is the lack of UI options in the risk management portal. Currently, there is no way to view all the risks by issue or vulnerability; instead, each is listed by endpoint and then issue. This causes some pain, as we need to continually export the risk list every week and review it via a pivot table. This is being worked on by Arctic Wolf, so I look forward to what they come up with. Finally, some risks within Arctic Wolf don't show any information in the remediation details tab. This is expected, but it is a weakness of the product.
Read Full ReviewThe fact that Arctic Wolf won't correlate data causes a lot of false alerts. They refuse to look at group memberships of employees. Most entertaining is they won't look at scanning metadata so they alert us when they have scanned one of our public IP addresses.
