The process of engaging Ataccama, evaluating the product for fit, then getting started was very fluid and went quickly. Unlike many of the other bigger players in the space, their sales process feels seamless; there is no matrix of vertical versus product teams to navigate. Instead, they have very lean and agile sales / technical teams that keep things moving, adapting well to the customer as they learn more about the product. This also translated to our final contract in terms getting just the right mix of products / licenses. This was a refreshing experience for sure. They also have some good implementation partners nearby that are both extremely capable and cost efficient. So, we started off knowing that we not only had a solid tool set, we also had the partners we would need to execute and maintain. Now that we are in motion, Ataccama has been keen to build features into their product based on requirements surfaced through our project. That kind of speed in responding to and productizing requirements is extraordinary.

Ataccama is very keen on their product and they are proud of it. It took us about 8 months to implement MDC that integrated 5 very large customer data sources. The majority of the time though was put towards turning our environments for performance and adding security for PII data. During this period we experienced a great help from Ataccama support and development team when they not only answered our questions but actually helped us in issues resolution by visiting the office and online. Very good experience overall.

There were some problems, but still according to my opinion MDC was still the best choice.

Performance of Ataccama Master Data Center (MDC) Across Market Features

Ataccama Master Data Center (MDC) Likes & Dislikes

Like

We initially built our own MDM solution around a DQ engine. We did this because we wanted the stewardship process to very closely match the workflow of the stewards, aligned more to the end goal than to MDM per se. We looked at many tools and took ideas from them to develop the design for our own solution. That was seven years ago and in bad need of replacement. After evaluating many tools we came across Ataccama and, after seeing it, we knew that it was going to be our solution. The UI/UX is so easy and it really resembled what we had always wanted to achieve with our home built solution, but could not. The polished UX (look and feel in addition to usability) and the speed really stands out. Also, the design time environment is very intuitive. It has just the right level of sophistication, but not overwhelming. Also, the solution has proven to very nimble and adaptable. It has been easy to respond to evolving user requirements without feeling like we are overhauling the whole system.

Like

Ease of use, easy to develop, quick turn around in support

Like

ease of development, transparency of data model, functionality including mathematical model.

Dislike

Initially, the search function was too simple, like a Google search. We really needed more of an advanced or faceted search. So, while the search was easy to use and very fast, it would have been a deal breaker without the more advanced options. We now have that!

Dislike

Some limitations on process generalization. Simplify bulk load functionality.

Dislike

Performance and use of memory perhaps have to be addressed in the future. But this is an advice or wish, rather than a dislike comment.
