AWS Fargate is a software offered by Amazon Web Services that enables users to run containers without managing servers or clusters. The software handles provisioning, configuring, and scaling of compute resources needed to run containerized applications. AWS Fargate integrates with orchestration services such as Amazon Elastic Container Service and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, allowing for automatic resource allocation and isolation at the task or pod level. This software aims to address operational overhead by automating infrastructure management, which assists businesses in deploying and managing applications in a scalable and secure manner.
AWS Fargate Pricing
AWS Fargate is software that follows a pay-as-you-go pricing model, where charges are based on the requested compute and storage resources for running containers. Pricing depends on the CPU and memory resources specified for each task and the duration of task execution. Additional charges may apply for data transfer, EBS storage, and optional features such as task protection and ephemeral storage. No Profile found

My overall experience with AWS and Fargate has been great as of now. I have been able to streamline our application deployment and development lifecycles without having to worry too much about some of the nuances of networking, security, and management that can come with deploying applications on virtual machines or even Kubernetes.

CRITICAL
“Redeployment Delays and Frequent Outages Reported in Cloud Service Operations”
2.0Nov 27, 2025
The service is very slow. We run one container because the service isn't and can't be highly available. Unfortunately, the redeployment takes random time. From 2 mins to 12 mins. If the outage lasts too long, the service will be unavailable in the meantime. I would expect the redeployment in seconds nowadays.
Also, updates of this service are very often and automatically reloads this service, causing other interruptions.

AWS Fargate Likes & Dislikes
AWS Fargate is a great platform that can be used to manage containers without having to worry about a lot of the operational tasks that would have to be performed in the underlying infrastructure or operating system. This solution can also be very helpful for those without the in-house knowledge of a platform like Kubernetes, as that can often cause an organization to endure more operational overhead, depending on the scale required for the applications being deployed.
It works more-or-less out of the box. It's configured via Terraform.
Key features I like the most are-No need to manage EC2 instances or clusters,Works perfectly with ECS and EKS, Automatically adjusts resources based on workloads, Built-in IAM integration and isolation for tasks and fibnally pay only for the resources used.
The separation between tasks, containers, and services within Fargate can be a bit confusing when first learning the ins and outs of the platform. Additionally, connecting to more static storage components like S3 or EBS can take a little tinkering before figuring them out.
Very long redeployment times. It's just a container, it starts locally in 1-2 seconds. Why it can't start in the same time in cloud?
Cost can escalate for high volume workloads. Less flexibility when compared with Self-managed Kubernates clusters Required additional AWS services like CloudWatch and X-ray for deep insights.

My overall experience with AWS fargate has been excellent. It simplifies container management by allowing us to run containers without managing servers or clusters. The serverless approach reduces operational overhead and accelerate deployment cycles. Integration with AWS services like ECS and EKS is seamless, and auto scaling capabilities ensure cost efficiency and performance.
The platform is ideal for teams that want to focus on application development rather than infra management.

We are running a bunch of production workloads on Fargate. If you have some experience with development and deployment of containerized applications it's really straightforward and time-to-market is very fast.
