Nos encanta la facilidad de implementación con baja configuración, empezar a gestionar los datos en tablas de AWS Glue nos fue bastante rápido con casi nula configuración por parte del usuario. La velocidad de AWS Glue es otro aspecto que nos encanta, cuando con otros proveedores el indexado demoraba, con AWS Glue no fue un problema.

It integrates seamlessly with AWS services such as S3, Athena, Redshift, and Snap Lake Formation and Glue, simplifies data transformation using Pyspark and spark SQL and its data catalog and crawlers make schema discovery and metadata management easy.

La configuración si bien es mínima, requiere ir saltando entre muchas pantallas confusas. Tablas por un lado, bases de datos por otro, ingesta por otro, y costos en otro totalmente distinto. Nos encantaría ver en un futuro un producto donde todo esté integrado en el mismo dashboard del servicio; cómo en otros productos de AWS. También, un punto negativo a destacar es que el producto cuenta con nulas funciones de IA, a comparación de la competencia.

Job startup times are slow because of cold starts, managing dependencies and spark versions can be complex and cost may inefficient DPU allocations. It is not suited for low-latency or real-time processing use cases.
