“Cisco Nexus are a huge stable solution with Cisco lack of marketing”

Oct 6, 2025
Cisco Nexus portfolio has a huge of products depending on the business requirements for mid or big company size. Cisco Nexus has a lot of functionalities and can work in two modes or OS: NX-OS for standard deployments and ACI for SDN into the Datacenter. For us this works very well because we can use one of them according to our needs.

We use Cisco Nexus switches in the data center to deploy our network as mid-large range. These switches will provide high stability, performance, scalability, low latency, etc. We created an ACI fabric so we can use high end switches to manage our traffic in our datacenter without any disruption.

Solid switch with high performance. I have used standard ethernet features and fiber channel features with great success. I would love it if there was only one version of Cisco code so that I didn't have to remember a bunch of syntax differences between different types of Cisco devices.

Performance of Cisco Nexus Switches Across Market Features

Cisco Nexus Switches Likes & Dislikes

Like

The most I like from Cisco Nexus is the product robustness, high availability functionalities, and the support that we are receiving from Cisco is very good.

Like

Robust scalability, comprehensive security protocols, and and quality of product.

Like

These switches will support automation, central management to do the changes, dashboard monitor & support different tire architecture as well.

Dislike

Cisco is missing here in Colombia more commercial work and financial options for gaining more market share because the products quality and functionalities are excellent.

Dislike

Complexity, cost, and compatibility.

Dislike

For standalone switches it is very difficult to do the OS image transfer because it does not support some protocols to make it easier. Sometimes VPC formation will cause an impact. Also, once we order the switches it will take long more time to deliver the materials.
